Painting
Activity: The first thing that we learned about was Australia and the artist that was from there. We learned about Clifford Possum and the artist that he was. After we learned a little about those things, we got started with our project. We first had to cut the paper bag in half and make sure that it played flat. The next thing that we did was that we got to pick an animal cut out of a choice. I got to choose the kangaroo. After we chose our animal, we got to glue it onto our bag where every we wanted. Next, we got some paint and started our design. We used a q-tip to dot the paint onto our project. We go to pick whatever design we wanted, and this is what I chose. The reason that we dotted was because we were learning about Clifford and this was his method. After we finished painting, we completed a self assessment, and then cleaned up our workspace. This was a fun and kinda calming activity.
Extension Activity: An extension activity for this lesson can be a science lesson. Students can research different animals in Australia and then they are able to chose that animal for the art project. They also would have to write facts about the animal that they chose.
