Activity: For this activity, we learn about the artist of Vincent Van Gogh. When we were learning about him, we learned about his famous painting of A Stary Night. We made our own art by starting by choosing our tissue paper and mod podging it on to the construction paper. We let that dry and then we uses oil pastel and crayon to make designs all over the tissue paper and construction paper. After we did that, we choose our landscape and cut it out of another piece of construction paper. I had then made a design on my landscape to make it look like buildings. We then glued our landscape onto the construction paper. Lastly, on a separate piece of paper we wrote three facts that we learned about Vincent Van Gogh.
Extension Activity: An extension activity for this could be teaching a geography lesson about different landscapes. We could learn about all of the different types of landscapes and then the students could pick their favorite and make their own Van Gogh inspired collage. After the students design their landscape, we could share them with the class.
